Titles: Titles can vary in backgrounds from a still shot of the church or wedding cake, to moving shots such as Sydney Harbour, waves rolling into Cronulla Beach, or even fireworks. The font used is a very easy to read and is usually white or yellow. Some colours like red and blue can be hard to read. Bridal Preparation: Most Brides wish to have a romantic overview of "getting ready". In the Deluxe and Ultimate Packages, a song is used instead of the natural soundtrack (remembering that a copy of all camera footage with the natural sound is supplied anyway). The editing can be cut to the beat of the music or just let flow. For the Basic Package, music can be added to the background to allow you to hear what is being said. Groom's Preparation: This is usually totally different to the Bridal Preparation. Most times when we arrive, the boys have not even begun to get ready. This does not matter as the boys are usually more prepared to do outrageous things for the camera. Once they realize I can make them look like super heroes, they quickly warm to the task. It is not just my ideas they use, often they have great ideas themselves. The emphasis is on fun. Childhood Photos to Video: Some people make the mistake of having too many still pictures at the front of their video. This is why we limit the number to 25. Any more tends to detract from the general pace of the video. What we suggest is about 8 photographs each at a similar age (example: every parent's picture of their child's first day at school) plus a few photos of after you met. The photographs are placed between the titles and the first location of the wedding day and there is a transition (usually a page turn or a fade) between each photo. Web Photos: A new innovation by Aussie Flicks. Do you have friends and family who can't make the wedding because of sickness or distance? Maybe you just want to show the world your wedding day. Here is a way of seeing 20 snapshots (from the video) of your wedding via the internet. You can have this photo montage shown on our web site and/or your web site. Imagine the thrill of, say, a grandmother too weak to travel out from England but still being able to see the wedding on the internet. She could even have the photographs printed off in England by simply downloading them. Wireless Microphone For Service: A microphone is attached to the Groom's lapel for crystal clear audio of the vows. The microphone is sensitive enough to capture the Bride's vows as well. Editing - Basic Style: As this package is a factual presentation of events, editing is at a minimum as far as effects are concerned. Scenes are cross faded together and where appropriate, background music is added. The importance here is to still hear what is going on so you don't miss anything. Editing - Deluxe and Ultimate Style: During our interviews we ask how you want the final product to be portrayed. Whether you want a short Edited Highlights Video or a long one. The edit can vary in length from about 30 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. The choice is up to you. Remember of course that this is the version that you are going to show your friends and family and that a copy of original footage is being supplied anyway (so you won't actually miss anything). We have an extensive range of effects but we try not to overuse them. You don't want people watching the video just to see the cool effects. Your Choice of Music: You can check out our extensive range of songs on this web site (Click Here). This list is not exhaustive and we are continually updating the number of songs we have. We have the AMCOS Special Event License to use copyright music and if you have songs on CD that we don't have, simply loan us the CDs. IF YOU WANT YOUR VIDEO TO BE PORTRAYED AS A HAPPY DAY, CHOOSE HAPPY SONGS. Slow songs tend to not give a happy feel. Sometimes songs like Savage Garden's "The Animal Song" may not seem to be relevant, but with cutting to the beat editing, it comes alive. We suggest you choose 8 to 10 songs. Wedding Ceremony: A shorter, more watchable version of the wedding ceremony is on the Edited Highlights Video for the Deluxe and Ultimate packages. Many couples choose to have the first natural sound on the Edited Highlights, their own wedding vows. The choice is yours. Park Footage (Formals): This is where you can let your hair down. We do not simply take what your photographer takes. Why have a video if the operator is simply going to shoot over the still photographer's shoulder. We specialize in showing the fun had by the couple and their attendants. In the editing process, we can increase or decrease the speed, turn you upside down, send you backwards or even make you disappear. All this and still have a romantic overtone to it. It is critical to choose the right music for this segment. The effect could well be lost with a slow song like "Endless Love". Reception: Whereas the Basic Package has everything that we have filmed, the Deluxe & Ultimate Packages allow you to shorten the overall edit. Where possible, we film your arrival at the reception venue and then your formal introduction. Table shots of all guests are taken when they are not eating. Following this is the speeches, cutting of the cake and bridal waltz. In between the bridal waltz and the couple leaving is the major "party" section of the day. This is where most of the dancing occurs. In editing, this can include everything or snippets of the celebrations. Remember, if you want a half hour highlights and you want all the speeches shown and they go for 40 minutes, it just doesn't work out (everything will still be on the Original Footage DVD). Montage: A Montage is the summary of the day to one song. Although it can be colour, normal motion, it is very popular to have it in black and white with strobe (false slow motion) effect. It is a good way of showing all the important bits when time is limited, or simply to re-cap. Original Footage (Copy): (Deluxe and Ultimate Packages) The truly great thing about editing is that you can make those slow portions of the day disappear. Sometimes, however, some of these sections might have special meaning to the couple and no one else. This is warts and all stuff. It is similar to getting your negatives from your photographer. What it does, though, is provide a full view of the whole day. Chaptered DVD: As everything is recorded and edited in a digital format, the end result DVD looks fabulous. Chapters allow you to go to a specific section of the video either by selecting it from a menu, or tabbing through. Non Chaptered DVD: These operate like VHS. You put them in, they start and you can navigate through the disk using the review and cue buttons. Maximum Hours of Attendance: We try to be reasonable about this, and in 99% of cases our weddings fit within the time constraints made. If, however, you feel that your wedding will go over our time limits, please discuss it with us prior to the wedding day. We do not like approaching our couples on the day telling them that we are going to have to charge overtime. Aussie Flicks reserves the right to charge extra for excessive travelling. |
